Standing Committees
Congregational Council - Lead the Leaders
Consists of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure(s),
Pastor(s), and the chairs of all standing committees.
Education - Oversee education programs for children,
youth, and adults.
Particularly large, this committee oversees 40+ volunteers
who minister to over 200 young people throughout the year.
Last summer's Vacation Bible School had over 240 young people
and 140 volunteers.
Evangelism - focusing the time and talents of
our members in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and
encouraging the growth of the church.
This web site is just one example of evangelism in action.
Parish Life - encourage, develop, and support
feelings of belonging, identify and joy among members of
Trinity as a loving Christian community.
Potlucks, picnics, recreational gatherings, always lots
of fun and always lots of food!
Property - maintains the church buildings, grounds
and equipment.
This committee coordinates volunteers in the congregation
who do roofing, painting, mowing, cleaning, repairing...you
name it, they've done it.
Social Ministry - promotes understanding and
facilitates congregational action in social justice issues;
also oversees contributions to ELCA and various local concerns.
We support on a monthly basis; Shepard's Gate, Tri-Valley
Haven, Habitat for Humanity, La Casa De La Dignidad/Our
Redeemer Lutheran, Shasta Bhawan Health Clinic, Bread for
the World, Hope Lutheran of Tracy, our missionaries Pastor
Jim And Judy in Tanzania and the Sierra Pacific Synod of
the ELCA. Not to mention special fund raising projects just
as The Giving Tree, Back to School Bus, and Fellowship Fiesta.
Stewardship - manages the Christian giving of
talents, time, titles, offerings and gifts.
Manages a budget of over half a million dollars for Trinity
Lutheran Church and Sonshine Preschool.
Worship - responsible for music and worship.
Handles Lectors, Lay Assistants, Acolytes, Ushers and the
Altar Guild, also coordinates prayer trees, adult choir,
children's choir, special musical events.
Youth - provides programs for young people that
promote a feeling of belonging and identity as members in
the body of Christ.
Trips, games, bowling, swimming, movies, lock-ins, conferences,
camping, hiking, football, mus-football, and community service
and outreach events. |
